Alright, today we are going into something really deep… This is serious stuff, so get your thoughts straightened out. Lock in and give this your best. You are not lazy or unmotivated if you feel as though you are only going through the motions without any kind of plan or goal. The reason is that you lack a clear objective. And believe me when I say that aimlessness weakens you; it’s like attempting to play a video game without a controller. annoying, useless, and primarily depressing.
So, how do you fix this? By figuring out your archetype. It’s not as woo-woo as it sounds, so don’t worry. The blueprint for who you are and what makes you happy is your archetype, which is the actual nature of your soul. You’ll have more direction and clarity than ever before once you realize it.
I’m going to walk you through the seven archetypes and how to find yours. Along the way, I’ll share some stories and even a few jokes to keep things interesting.
Archetype One: The Healer
You’re the one who wishes to assist and cure people’s bodies, minds, and souls. You’re the friend who always has a shoulder to weep on and Band-Aids. I had a roommate in college who was unquestionably a healer. He wasn’t pre-med or anything, but he had a remarkable talent for fixing anything, including heartbreaks, headaches, and even my Xbox after it stopped operating for no apparent reason (which wasn’t my fault).
But here’s the thing: true healing isn’t just about fixing what’s broken. It’s about getting to the root of the issue, and that often lies in the soul. So, if you’re a Healer, remember that your superpower goes deeper than surface-level fixes.
Archetype Two: The Builder
Whether they are building a tower, a startup, or the most intricate IKEA bookshelf in the world, builders are the people who adore creating. From hammers and nails to coding languages and state-of-the-art technology, your instruments have changed, but your goal remains the same: making ideas a reality.
I once tried my hand at being a Builder when I decided to DIY a bookshelf. It ended up looking more like modern art than furniture. Clearly, this isn’t my archetype, but if it’s yours, you’ve got the power to shape the world in tangible ways. Just remember to check the instructions first.
Archetype Three: The Artist
Ah, the Artist. You’re all about creativity, self-expression, and seeing the world through a unique lens. Whether you’re painting, performing, or turning your Instagram feed into a work of art, you thrive on making things beautiful.
An artist, who also happens to be one of my best friends, is the ideal person to be around when you’re feeling uninspired. Once, they turned a shabby coffee table into something so beautiful I couldn’t tell what it was.
Archetype Four: The King
Kings lead with love and power, but not the “off with their heads!” kind of power. True Kings serve their people, building communities and uniting others. You’re probably the one organizing group trips or keeping the office running smoothly, even if you’re not the boss.
I knew a King once—my former manager. She had this uncanny ability to make everyone feel valued while keeping things moving like clockwork. Just remember, a true King serves others. The moment you start craving power for its own sake, you risk slipping into tyrant territory. And nobody likes a tyrant.
Archetype Five: The Knight
Knights live by a code of honor. You fight for justice, protect the vulnerable, and strive to make the world safer. Sounds noble, right? It is—but it’s also tough. Many modern Knights—cops, soldiers, and public servants—feel stuck in systems that don’t honor their values.
Imagine someone fiercely facing down danger to protect others, that ability to push past fears. That’s the spirit of a true Knight. If this is your archetype, remember that your honor defines you, not the system you work for.
Archetype Six: The Visionary
You’re the seeker of truth, the sage who loves learning and teaching. But here’s the catch: knowledge isn’t power unless it helps people connect to something bigger—each other, their purpose, or even the divine. Otherwise, it’s just trivia.
Case in point: I spent an entire weekend once learning everything about ancient Roman plumbing. Fascinating? Sure. Useful? Not so much. If you’re a Visionary, focus on knowledge that empowers and inspires others. Leave the rabbit holes for Reddit.
Archetype Seven: The Goldsmith
Goldsmiths are all about the exchange of goods, services, and ideas. You thrive in business and trade, but there’s a dark side—money and materialism can corrupt faster than you can say “buy one, get one free.”
I used to work with a guy who was 100% a Goldsmith. He could turn a side hustle into a six-figure income faster than most of us could brew coffee. But he always kept his priorities straight, using his success to help others instead of hoarding it. That’s the key—stay grounded, or the shiny stuff will own you.
Finding Your Archetype
So, which archetype are you? If you’re not sure, start by asking yourself: What brings me the most joy? What makes me feel truly alive? That’s your archetype calling.
Once you know it, lean in. Embrace it. Live it. You’ve got this.
And hey, if this article resonated with you, let me know. If not, well, you might be missing out on a big brother who’s just trying to help you navigate this wild ride called life.
